Course Overview
This focused 2-hour program provides an evidence-based update on maxillary sinus treatment for implant therapy, designed to give participants both clinical insight and practical strategies. Delivered by Dr. Soldatos and Dr. Eswaran, the session explores diagnostics, surgical options, osseodensification, and implant timing. There will be a special emphasis on decision-making in pneumatized sinus cases.
The program combines two 1-hour lectures with interactive discussion, followed by Q&A and enrollment opportunities for future Skillodontic’s courses
Course Goal
The course aims to update clinicians on the diagnosis, rationale, and surgical approaches for treating the pneumatized maxillary sinus. It will also provide clear pathways for crestal vs. lateral sinus elevation, grafting strategies, and the timing of implant placement.
Course Objectives
- Differentiate crestal vs. lateral sinus elevation techniques and their indications.
- Recognize critical CBCT findings that influence treatment selection.
- Discuss osseodensification vs. conventional drilling for crestal approaches.
- Review complication management, including membrane perforation, graft migration, and infection.
- Understand the timing of implant placement and criteria for simultaneous graft + implant protocols.
Course Faculty
This course is provided by two distinct practitioners, each bringing specialized expertise:
- Dr. Eswaran:
Will cover sinus anatomy, CBCT interpretation, lateral window protocols, and complication prevention. - Dr. Soldatos:
Will cover the osseodensification approach, crestal technique, OD-related complications, timing of implant placement, simultaneous grafting, and guided approaches
